Chapter 6 - Salvation Is So Much More!!!
from the book-
"When I was saved, when I was born the second time, “by God,” I started down the path of my epic adventure. This part of my life had a meaningful purpose and real reasons for making the most of life under the sun."
"My purpose, my path in life, was now all about living as a child of God, who had been adopted into His wonderful family. Instead of pursuing meaningless paths that were all about selfish interests, I was now being sent out, as an ambassador, for the God of the universe, on one mission after another. And I knew that I had a purpose in life much greater than myself."
6.1 Life As A Saint
This section is a continuation of Papa's Story with more details about life after being born again.
6.2 The Spirit's Question
This section concludes the book with a question given to the saints by the Holy Spirit.
from the book-
"God’s Spirit worked in the hearts of all of the people who wrote the Bible. The Triune God is the real author of the Bible. In the book that we call Hebrews, the Holy Spirit asks a question. Just like the KING’S QUESTION, we should pay close attention to this question."
“how shall we escape if we neglect such a great salvation?” Hebrews 2:3 Salvation is so much more than just a fix for our sin problem!Salvation is not me deciding or choosing or asking for something.Salvation is not contingent on me being willing, or perfect, or at the end of my rope.Salvation does not happen at a time or place that I chose, or earned or decided. There are plenty of people who will have said or done or decided to do something that makes them think they are now saved, but will end up saying Lord, Lord, but I…22 On that day many will say to me, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your name, and do many mighty works in your name?’ 23 And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’ Matthew 7:22, 23Salvation is so much more… Salvation is finding out that Jesus has picked you to be on His Team.Salvation is finding out that the God of the universe has decided to show mercy to you.Salvation is realizing that God has given a new start, even after you have thoroughly messed up the first one.Salvation is receiving an adoption notice that you now belong to the family of God.Salvation is irresistible because you have come to know that you now have a new heart that loves what God loves.Salvation is noticing that along with a new willing heart, you have also been given new eyes that can, see Truth like never before.Salvation is all of a sudden being able to hear the gospel, and God’s Word, with ears that can hear.Salvation is such a transformation that you could never really resist it. Just ask men like Jonah, Sampson, and Peter.Salvation is like faith, one of the many gifts given to us by God that we are unable to give back, even if we thought we wanted to.Salvation is the greatest privilege that can be bestowed upon a human being.Salvation is an eternal epic adventure with the God of the universe, all for His glory and my benefit.Salvation is so much more than just a fix for our sin problem!Salvation changes everything forever – thank LORD.How could we neglect such a great salvation?
